MIXD was approached to make a design for a freestanding office unit. The unit had to provide space for a workplace, meeting room, pantry and toilet. The location: the backyard of the client living in Rotterdam, Prinsenland. An environment where everything subsides without costly piling work.

On a limited surface a T-shaped rubber-like sculptural volume was designed with a representative, luxurious appearance. The 'arm' of the T is not symmetrical, the long side crosses more, towards the open corner.
Under the short 'arm', the volume is closed with horizontal wooden slats that bend inwards at the entrance.

The facade under the long arm can be closed with a corner sliding door and wooden screens. In summer the entire corner can be opened.
